Grease Monkey

I had a child ask for a mechanic cake. Simply because their daddy is a mechanic and their daddy is their hero.
So we made a topsy Turvey cake with some washed lego wheels and screw drivers with grease dripping down the cake (chocolate ganache).

8th Birthday

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, when you turn 8 you are baptized. In April of 2017 my sweet daughter was able to be baptized and I was lucky enough to get time to make her a cake. We chose this layered ruffle look with handmade sugar roses and the CTR design on the top (CTR stands for "Choose the Right"). She isn't a super girly girl and loves the color green. The cake was vanilla flavored with a strawberry filling. Her favorite!

Frozen Birthday Cake

Just like every child in the World right now, my daughter loves Frozen. So what better type of cake to do then a frozen cake.
This cake was a white almond cake with strawberry danish dessert and fresh strawberries for the filling. Each level has four layers to make it extra tall.
The figurines are the storybook collection found at Toys R Us. I didn't want to even try to attempt to make them out of gum paste. Plus I no longer live close to a store that would carry those items. The closest joanns and micheals is an hour away.
The frosting is Vanilla buttercream with a white chocolate ganache drizzled over top.
The Castle, Trees and the Snowflakes are made out of white chocolate.

Cowboy Spider Man

My son turned 7 and this is what he requested. It's a once in a lifetime cake and you'll probably never see it again. The cake is a full sheet cake. It's vanilla cake. The filling was chocolate ganache, strawberries and whipping cream. The frosting was just normal vanilla buttercream. The spider man is hand frosted. It's not a edible print out or anything like that.

Cur chow!!!!!! It's lightning McQueen

I got a special order for a little boys birthday. They wanted a  cake in the shape of Lightning McQueen. The cake is a chocolate cake with chocolate fudge butter cream frosting, with a side of raspberry filling because I couldn't put it in the cake without making a huge mess. The cake is then covered and decorated with fondant.. The whole thing is cake. I was really excited with the end result. Now I need someone to request Mater. I think it would be a fun challenge. Even my two year old daughter who is obsessed with princesses new who it was. That was the best compliment of the day.
