Spa Cake

So, we have three Female teachers retiring at Shelley High School. They asked me to make a cake for them. I made a sheet cake that was plain for everyone to share and eat and then I put this on top. The whole thing is edible, and I made all of it by hand on my own. I was really nervous because last time my Sister in law helped me with the lion and did the hardest parts. The Hippo and cosmetics are made out of Gum Paste and the bubbles are made out of fondant. I sprinkled some edible glitter on some of the bubbles for some shimmer because we all know bubbles shine. The zebra print is one of the new sugar sheets made by Wilton. They are really convenient and easy to use. You have to be a little careful because sugar sheets are harder and stiffer than fondant. I was really pleased with the results.

Bye Bye Birdie Cake

This cake was made for the Shelley High Schools Cast Party. During the play Bye Bye Birdie I took pictures of all the kids. I tried to get one picture of each cast member and some unforgettable moments. There were so many pictures so it is a little overwhelming. The cake is a White Almond Cake with Raspberry filling. The pictures are printed on edible paper. The kids though it was so cool to be eating pictures of themselves.

2nd Birthday

We celebrated my baby girls birthday party on Saturday because we had family in town. We had a ballerina theme because she loves to dance and sing. I wanted to do a tutu cake for her but ran out of time with all the events in that weekend. So this is what we ended up with but it was way cute still and it tasted amazing too. The cake was a strawberry cake made with fresh strawberries. Yum! Something we needed since it's so dang cold outside still. Maybe on friday I will attempt a small tutu cake for her actual birthday to make myself happy and satisfied.
