Fish it's whats for Dinner!

This is probably one of the oddest orders I have ever gotten. The husband like pineapple upside down cake and fishing. Well, you can't really frost an upside down cake that ruins the flavor so I decided that I would make a giant fish and make it look like it had just been caught and is now being served for dinner. It turned out so much better than I thought. First, I made my fish a little to big but ended up working out perfectly, second while it sat in the fridge overnight the fish kind of slimed onto the cake which made it even more perfect because fish are kinda slimey. The person loved it and her husband was really surprised when he opened the fridge to find a giant fish laying on top of the cake. The fish is made out of rice krispie treat.

The Beach

This cake was alot of fun. I had someone call asking for a Hawaiian themed birthday cake for there son. They gave me permission to do my own thing. So I started to think what do boys like about Hawaii? Girls it's easy, the flowers. After a couple of days I got a duh moment, surfing. The cake is one layer lime cake and one layer raspberry cake with a buttercream frosting. That was the only request that it be an odd flavor of cake. I have named this cake raspberry limeade. It was really good.  Once again everything is edible on the cake except for the leaves to the palm trees because my own weren't working for me so I had to go with plan B.  The trunks of the trees are chocolate covered raisins, surf boards are painted air heads, sand is brown sugar, water is piping gel.

Chocolate Dream

I got the best present for my birthday. My mom got me a mini cake cricut machine! I love it and couldn't wait for my birthday to try it out. This is some practice with it. It can do really intricate designs so much faster than me doing them by hand. It's going to take some practice to get the hang of it but it was so much fun to use it.
I am going to dub the flavor of this cake as Chocolate Dream. There's a Bakery in Eugene Oregon that my family discovered that has some pretty amazing cake flavors. This cake has a different name there but I believe it need a more appropriate name for a Mormon Community. This cake is a chocolate cake with a hint of orange flavor to it. The fillings are chocolate mousse and vanilla custard, Then the sides are covered in a chocolate ganache and the top is finished off with an orange butter cream frosting. This cake was Heavenly. I am not a big fan of orange and chocolate together but this is so subtle that it has become one of my favorite cakes ever. I have not mastered there flavor but I'm close and the more practice the better it's going to get.

Taking a Nap in the Sun

This horse is crafted out of gum paste. So is the fence. In fact, everything on this cake is edible. The horse is probably the most difficult thing I have ever made. It was an adventure but it was worth it. This cake is a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate fudge frosting.

The Debut

So, I decided to try selling my stuff at the local Rigby Stampede days. I was really nervous about how it would go because it's a big investment and I didn't know how it would go. I made some business cards, a banner, and lots of treats. I got a lot of compliments and I sold everything I had except for some suckers which I had a ton of so that's ok. For those of you who couldn't make it here is a preview of everything.

My sign. It makes me so happy to see it not on the internet :)
My table of goodies. Soon I am going to have to get another table. This one was a little crammed.

Decorative sugar cookies. They tasted amazing to.
So those of you from Medford. Do you remember the cookie shop in the mall, and they had those chocolate marshmallow cookie? Well, they were my favorite and I mastered the cookie with a couple of different recipes combined. They were a huge hit.
 Me preparing everything at home.
I hand painted a whole bunch of chocolate suckers. The kids loved them a ton and adults  thought they were so creative.

Amazing muffins. Blueberry and Cream, Strawberry and Cream, and Almond Poppy seed. These muffins are so moist and yummy.

Mini Cakes. These are about 3 inch round cakes. Perfect for a first birthday and just two people. This one was chocolate peanut butter cup cake.
Strawberry lemonade cake. With white chocolate poured over the top.
 Raspberry Truffle cake.
 Cake Bites.
 Peanut Butter Cup Cupcakes. Yummy!

Raspberry Truffle cupcake with a little chocolate hand made bowl on top for decoration.
And the most popular. Strawberry Lemonade cupcake. This is a lemon cupcake with strawberries poured over the top then a strawberry lemonade butter cream. Add a gum paste daisy with a lemon slice for decoration and it make it complete.
Thanks to all those that came to my booth. I had a lot of comments on how amazing everything looked. Thank you so much for the compliments. I hope that everything tasted as good as it looked for you and it met your expectations.

Puppy Cake

The pictures on the top of the cake are edible pictures of their own dogs. The dog in the middle is made out of gum paste. The cakes were white cake with lemon filling, butter cream frosting, and chocolate with snickers and vanilla butter cream.
